Dentists

Amal Patel

Principal BDS (Manc) GDC 178402
Amal became the principal dentist at York House Dental Practice in 2016. He has a particular interest in advanced cosmetics, implants and restorative dentistry having attended numerous postgraduate courses under the guidance of some of the most prominent clinicians in both the UK and Europe. Amal is regularly updating his professional knowledge and is able to provide the ever widening portfolio of treatment that modern aesthetic dentistry demands, including veneers, complex restorative cases, the latest in white crown technology and all aspects of implant dentistry. He practices minimally invasive dentistry, believing in removing as least tooth structure as possible, emphasising the practice philosophy of maintaining ‘teeth for life.’ He is also well averse in Botulinum toxin and dermal fillers for use in facial rejuvenation and is an approved Invisalign practitioner. Amal has built a reputation based around his caring and calming manner, having the ability to treat the most nervous of patients. He is a member of the British Dental Association and the Association of Dental Implantology. In his spare time he enjoys playing football, going to the gym and travelling.

Peter Churchill

Peter brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the practice having worked at York House for over 35 years. He is a general family dentist but has developed a special interest in cosmetic dentistry and restoring dental implants. He trained in cosmetic dentistry in New York, Palm Beach and Milan. His interests outside work are following Watford football club, watching wildlife and enjoying restaurants. Peter says “I have enjoyed every minute working here with our highly skilled team. It is a privilege taking care of our patient’s dental health. Our aim has always been to make plans to keep our patients teeth for life, but with always the minimum dentistry needed”

Andrew Cornell

Andy enjoys all aspects of dentistry, but has a particular interest in minimally invasive dentistry and preventive dentistry. He believes in conserving as much of your natural tooth as possible using the latest resin bonding and adhesive dentistry techniques. Andy has a caring and gentle approach and will try to allay any anxieties or fears you may have about undergoing dental treatment. Andy attends regular postgraduate courses to keep up with the latest ideas in dentistry. He is a member of the British Dental Association. Outside the surgery, Andy enjoys walking, gardening and city breaks. He is married with a grown-up son.

Sarah Murphy

After graduating from Birmingham University, Sarah worked at a few practices before settling at York House for the past 25 years. She likes its friendly environment, which puts patients at ease, and the supportive team that work at the practice. Sarah is a dentist who understands the contrasting needs of her clients, treats them as individuals and enjoys building long-term relationships with them. This enables careful planning of prevention and home-care and monitoring of teeth to help the patients to maintain their teeth for life. She tries to make a visit to the dentist as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. Sarah has a special interest in cosmetic work, including crowns, veneers, implants and the restoration of worn teeth with the latest build up techniques. But she is extremely experienced in all aspects of dentistry. She particularly enjoys treating children. She attends regular courses and is a keen member of the Oxident dental study group. Her spare time interests include tennis and keep fit in between looking after her family.

Karen Darby

Since qualifying at Birmingham in 2009 Karen has worked in private practice in York and Buckinghamshire. She has a keen interest in all aspects of dentistry, including root canal treatments. Karen is a a member of the Royal College of Surgeons and works hard to keep up to date with the latest developments in dentistry. In her spare time Karen likes to keep active. She enjoys yoga and Pilates and completed her first half marathon in Windsor last year.

Sue Matthews

Sue is a key member of our team, with a host of skills that add value to our practice. Her experience includes training at the Cosmetic Institute at New York University. She loves developing relationships with our clients to help support them on their treatment journey.

Emma Ging

Emma joined the practice in 2013 and soon gained her National qualification in Dental Nursing. She was honored to win the Apprentice of the Year at Aylesbury College for her efforts while studying. Emma loves her work and enjoys socialising with fellow staff members.

Jill Cornell

Jill works part-time and has been at York House for over 20 years. She holds the National Qualification Certificates in Dental Nursing, Dental Sedation Support and Dental Radiology, and offers all the skills you would expect from her qualifications. Away from nursing, Jill is involved in a charity that organises horse riding for disabled and disadvantaged children.

Kay Francis

Kay lives in Chesham and, although she has been a Dental Nurse for 15 years, she still really enjoys her job. Outside work, Kay helps to run Rainbow and Brownie groups, and enjoys teaching the girls new skills and watching them grow up. She also likes singing to her two children in the car – even though they think her voice is terrible (her words!).

Sarune Tamosiunaite

Sarune joined our team in 2016, holding a national qualification in Dental Nursing. She works alongside our Orthodontist and is known for her kind and bubbly personality.

Chloe Kendrick

Trainee Dental Nurse
Chloe is currently training to gain her qualification in dental nursing. She enjoys interacting with patients and all aspects of her role working as a trainee nurse at the practice.

Specialist Treatment

Guy Mclellan

Oral surgeon and implantologist BDS FDS RCD (Eng) MBBS GDC 69883
Guy’s skill and knowledge have greatly improved our clients’ choices and as an implantologist, he has helped our clients avoid dentures by restoring the functionality and appearance of their teeth. Pete Churchill says ‘I chose Guy to work as our specialist because of his caring nature, easy rapport with clients and his vast experience in placing implants.’ He is doubly qualified as a doctor and a dentist, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. He is currently a member of the Craniofacial team at Westminster Hospital, where he treats severe head injury and disease. Guy is a member of the Association of Dental Implantology, the European Association of Osseointegration, a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and a Mentor for Nobel Biocare. When not busy at work, Guy keeps super fit by competing in triathalons.

Alison Harley

Periodontal (gum) specialist BDS MSc GDC 56123
Alison Harley qualified in 1981 from The Royal Dental Hospital, London. This was followed by an MSc degree course in Periodontology in 1984 and she became a registered specialist in Periodontology in 2000. Alison has worked in Lagos, Nigeria where she also carried out research into periodontal disease. After returning to the UK in 1998 she has worked in general practice and as a periodontal specialist in private practice. She currently works two days a week at Guys Dental Hospital teaching undergraduate and postgraduate student’s periodontology and also treating patients with complex periodontal needs. She started at York House Dental Practice in 2010 treating in house and referral patients for periodontology. What is periodontal or gum disease? It is a condition where the gums bleed and start to separate from the teeth. The bone supporting the teeth can be destroyed and the teeth can get loose and may need to be extracted. Treatment involves learning to clean the teeth and then having the teeth and the roots cleaned usually using local anesthetic. Most areas respond well to this, however sometimes a few teeth have persistent problems and need further treatment or periodontal surgery.

Aneel Jaisinghani

Dr Aneel Jaisinghani is the Consultant in Orthodontics at Stoke Mandeville and Amersham, and a Fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons, and we are delighted to have such a highly qualified addition to our team. Aneel uses the most advanced techniques for both adults and children, including invisible braces (Invisalign and Clearstep) and quick braces (six month braces and Inman Aligners). He also offers convenient evening appointments, so clients don’t have to miss work or school. Outside work, Aneel enjoys cricket and badminton, and spending time with his family.

Oliver Tabbenor

Oliver gained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Manchester in 2009. He went on to do his vocational training year in an NHS practice in Salford. Following this, Oliver worked as a Senior House Officer in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery unit at North Manchester General Hospital. He then progressed to a role as a Career Development Trainee in Oral Surgery and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Royal Preston Hospital and The Manchester Dental Hospital. In 2012, Oliver passed the postgraduate examinations for the Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Following his postgraduate hospital work, Oliver went back to university to study for a medical degree. He gained a degree in medicine from the University of Birmingham, graduating in 2015. During his time studying for a medical degree, Oliver worked three evenings a week in an independent dental practice. He provided emergency dental work, minor oral surgery and a general dental service. Oliver currently divides his time between hospital work and providing oral surgery in practice. He is committed to furthering his skills and providing up to date practice. In his spare time Olives likes to keep fit and watch as much football as possible.

Hygienist

Louise Liveing

Louise brings a wealth of experience having a long career spanning over two decades. As our main hygienist, championing oral hygiene and prevention, Louise helps all her patients reduce their risk of developing gum disease or prevents it from worsening. Known for her gentleness, Louise takes a long-term approach to improving your dental health.

Sheryll Smith

Practice Manager
Sheryl has worked at York House for over 25 years and remains committed to ensuring our clients feel comfortable at every stage of their treatment. In 2003, she was one of the first in the country to gain the BTEC National Certificate in Practice Management. She has a positive, caring influence on the practice, keeping us strictly compliant with current regulations, thereby improving the safety and effectiveness of our care. Outside work, Sheryll enjoys retail therapy and dog walking.

Sandra Moseley

Senior receptionist
Despite having worked at York House for over 25 years, Sandra’s enthusiasm for meeting client needs has not dimmed. Originally a qualified dental assistant, she is our senior receptionist with additional responsibilities as purchasing manager. She is also in charge of technical liaison relating to dental equipment. Sandra says ‘I still love my job. At York House, we all have an input into practice development which gives us a real sense of involvement and commitment.’
