We want your children’s teeth to stay just as healthy and shiny as when they first appear at around six months old. By bringing your children to see us from an early age, we can keep a close eye on their developing teeth and they can get used to seeing us. Becoming familiar with the practice will help them to take dental appointments in their stride and mean they are less likely to develop a fear of the dentist.
During routine appointments, our friendly dentists will assess young teeth for signs of decay and, if necessary, they may also refer your child for orthodontic treatment. Early hygiene appointments are also beneficial, as growing teeth will be thoroughly cleaned and children can learn how to look after their oral health. We can also apply fissure sealants to protect permanent teeth against decay and strengthen enamel with fluoride varnishes.
We can treat children free of charge under the NHS, and students in full-time education until they are 18 or 19 years old. Following this, they can claim special exemption if they are on a low income and we also charge an initial low private fee with higher rates phased in over a number of years.
